Looking for a lively Calgary neighborhood that’s got it all? Beddington Heights is a well-established community that offers just about every amenity you’d want in a neighborhood. Located in northwest Calgary, it is one of the largest communities in Calgary, with a population of over 12,500. What is it that drives so many people to move to Beddington Heights, Calgary? Originally, present-day Beddington Heights was the grounds of a Canadian Pacific Railway station. The neighborhood was named after the city of Beddington in Surrey, England. Established in 1979, Beddington Heights, Calgary is located just off of Beddington Trail and near Deerfoot Trail. It offers easy access to public transit, health clinics, shopping venues, and other convenient amenities.

Shopaholics flock to Beddington Heights. Centre Street is home to the Beddington Town Centre, the Beddington Co-op Shopping Centre, the Country Hills Town Centre, and several independent shops. The Beddington Town Centre features over 50 stores that offer reasonable prices and friendly service, and the Country Hills Town Centre boasts over 52 shops, services, and restaurants. The Beddington Co-op Shopping Centre is a locally- owned and operated co-operative that offers a full range of retail services.

The community centre in Beddington Heights features a banquet hall, a large preschool, a gym, and an afterschool program. Opportunities to stay fit and healthy abound in Beddington Heights, as the community centre offers several recreational programs, including volleyball, soccer, dance, yoga, martial arts, and fencing. Next to the community centre, there’s a large field that contains an ice rink that’s converted into a skate park in the summertime. In addition, a sports and recreational centre is currently being developed in Nose Creek. Nose Hill Park is also easily accessible from homes in Beddington Heights.
