Capitol Hill, Calgary is a residential neighborhood located in the northwest quadrant of the city. Living in Capitol Hill is an excellent choice for anyone who
desires a centrally-located neighborhood that’s close to SAIT, ACAD, or the University of Calgary. The neighborhood is popular with first-time buyers
because of its convenient location and affordable real estate. As you’d imagine, there are many university students living in Capitol Hill because it is so
close to major learning institutions in the city. The neighborhood is home to around 4,000 residents.
Capitol Hill, Calgary is bounded by Confederation Park to the north, 10th Street to the east, 16th Avenue (also known as the Trans Canada Highway) to
the south, and 19th Street to the west. SAIT and North Hill Mall are located south of the community. Residents can commute to the downtown area
quickly via 10th Avenue, and 16th Avenue offers easy access to Banff National Park. Simply put, living in Capitol Hill simplifies commutes during the

The number of school children living in Capitol Hill, Calgary has declined over the years, but a small percentage of the neighborhood’s population
consists of families with children. There are a number of K-12 schools in the area and Capitol Hill Elementary (public) and St. Pius Bilingual Elementary
(Separate) are located right within the community.
The Capitol Hill Community Association organizes a variety of events and programs for residents. An avid supporter of car shows in Calgary, the Capitol
Hill Community Association hosts the Show n Shine event every year. At the south end of Capitol Hill’s Community Hall, you’ll find a newly refurbished
lounge where you can socialize with other community residents and watch sports on two large TVs. The lounge is open in the evenings from Monday
through Saturday. There’s also a preschool located in the basement of the Capitol Hill Community Hall. The preschool is a parent co-operative and the
longest-running preschool in Calgary.
