Charleswood, Calgary is a residential neighborhood that’s conveniently located in the northwest quadrant of the city. The community is mainly comprised of single family homes. One of the major perks of living in this neighborhood, which has a population of approximately 3,500, is that it’s located right at the base of Nose Hill Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America. In addition, SAIT, the University of Calgary, and the downtown area can all be easily accessed from Charleswood, so it offers quick, hassle-free commutes. Not only is Charleswood well connected to the city’s major roads, it’s also near the Brentwood LRT station, allowing residents to get around the city with great ease.

Charleswood Real Estate

Established in 1959, Charleswood is a mature, peaceful neighborhood located atop a gentle slope that overlooks the city. Charleswood’s real estate primarily consists of single family homes, but around 11% of residences in the community are condominiums or apartments. The majority of homes in the community were built in the early 1960s. The ownership rate in Charleswood, Calgary is over 80%. Families flock to Charleswood for a variety of reasons. For one, there are several schools available to Charleswood’s residents. Charleswood, Calgary is served by Banff Trail Bilingual Elementary, Collingwood Elementary, Senator Patrick Burns Junior High, St. Francis Senior High, and St. Margaret Elementary and Junior High schools. Furthermore, Charleswood has ample green space and a relatively low crime rate, so it’s an ideal place to raise children.
