Diamond Cove, Calgary is a newer community in the southeast quadrant of the city. It was carved out of the neighboring community of Queensland, from which it was separated in 1991. Located directly west of the Bow River, Diamond Cove is a small, affluent community that is predominantly made up of single family homes. There are about 800 residents living in Diamond Cove, which is known for its hilly streets and abundant cul-de-sacs.

Diamond Cove is a coveted neighborhood because of its convenient location near arterial routes of the city and its proximity to nature. If youíre looking for a quiet neighborhood that offers easy access to the cityís core and boasts plenty of recreational opportunities, Diamond Cove is a wonderful place to call home. Itís a well-off community whose residents have an average annual income of $128,607.

Location

Diamond Cove offers convenient access to Deerfoot Trail via Bow Bottom Trail. Deerfoot Trail will take you downtown and to the Calgary International Airport. The downtown area is located approximately ten kilometers north of Diamond Cove. The Bow River pathway system, which is located to the east of Diamond Cove, is a great place to get exercise and escape the city. It can be accessed via a pedestrian bridge near Diamond Cove.

In addition, Fish Creek Provincial Park is located near Diamond Cove. Fish Creek Provincial Park, the largest urban park in North America, features trails, picnic areas, and a man-made lake that is ideal for swimming in the summertime. Other popular activities at this park include camping, fishing, cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and walking/hiking.

Amenities

Diamond Cove, Calgary is home to a community centre, tennis courts, an outdoor skating rink, and sports fields. The community is served by the following schools: Haultain Elementary, Queensland Downs Elementary, and Wilma Hansen Junior High schools.

To get their shopping done, residents of Diamond Cove can go to the nearby community of Deer Ridge and visit the Deer Valley Shopping Centre. Other shopping areas available to Diamond Coveís residents include Macleod Trail, which features several big box stores; Southcentre Mall, which is the largest mall in the area; and Avenida Mall, an upscale mall just north of Fish Creek.
