Douglas Glen, Calgary is a well-to-do residential neighborhood located in the southeast quadrant of the city. Established in 1986, Douglas Glen has a
population of nearly 12,000. All of the buildings in the neighborhood are single family detached homes and over 98% of the residents in the community
are homeowners. Douglas Glen has over 4,000 homes and more than 150 businesses. The residents of Douglas Glen have an above-average median

Location
Douglas Glen, Calgary is bounded by 114th Avenue S to the north, 130th Avenue S to the south, Deerfoot Trail to the east, and Bow River to the west. The neighborhood offers quick access to major roadways, allowing residents to get around the city with ease. Communities that are located with the Douglas Glen neighborhood include Douglasdale Estates, DouglasGlen, Douglas Ridge, and Douglasdale Meadows. Because of Douglas Glen’s location atop a Bow River escarpment, residents can enjoy views of both the Bow River Valley and the Rocky Mountains in the distance.
Recreational Amenities
There is ample green space within Douglas Glen, Calgary, which is also connected to the regional pathway system in Fish Creek Provincial Park via a new pedestrian bridge just south of the Deerfoot Trail Bridge. Fish Creek Provincial Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America, is located to the west of Douglas Glen. At the park, residents can enjoy activities like hiking, camping, cycling, and wildlife watching. Fish Creek Provincial Park is also home to Sikome Lake, a man-made lake that’s wildly popular in the summertime.
Golf enthusiasts can hang out at the Douglasdale Golf Course, which is located right within Douglas Glen, Calgary. The course offers a fun golfing experience for everyone from novices to seasoned golfers. Douglasdale currently does not have a community centre, but the DouglasdaleGlen Community Association has an active presence and organizes a variety of local sports programs, including soccer and basketball.

There are also several strip malls located in the community, including one near the golf course club house, one to the south on Lake McKenzie Boulevard, and Douglas Square at Deerfoot. The largest shopping centre in the area is Southcentre Mall, which is located at the intersection of Anderson Road and Macleod Trail.
