Edgemont, Calgary is an upscale residential area located in the northwest quadrant of the city. The community has a large population of young families.
With over 17,000 residents, Edgemont is the most populous community in the entire City of Calgary. The neighborhood is divided into the following
subdivisions: Edgemont Estates, Edenwold, Edgedale, Edgebrook, Edgeridge, Edgevalley, and Edgepark.
Edgemont, Calgary is located north of the Dalhousie community and is adjacent to Nose Hill. It is bounded by John Laurie Boulevard to the south, Sarcee
Trail to the west, Country Hills to the north, and Shaganappi to the east. Because Edgemont is located high above the rest of the city, it is exposed to

Thanks to Edgemont’s proximity to major transportation routes, residents of Edgemont can get around the city with great ease. The new Stoney Trail ring
road is just minutes away from Edgemont and offers quick access to the Trans Canada Highway, Deerfoot Trail, and the Queen Elizabeth Highway.
Edgemont, Calgary is an affluent neighborhood with real estate that dates back to the 80’s and 90’s. The majority of the neighborhood is made up of
single family homes, but the community also has some townhomes and low-rise apartments. Prices for condos in Edgemont start at around $250,000,
while homes in Edgemont can cost anywhere from $300,000 to $2 million. Many of the homes in the area feature an abundance of green space. The
majority of Edgemont’s residents are homeowners.
Parks and Recreation
Edgemont is teeming with recreational opportunities, as it borders Nose Hill Park. Moreover, the community is home to playgrounds, pathways, ravines,
tennis courts, and skating rinks. In the neighboring community of the Hamptons, there’s also a golf course.
The Edgemont Community Centre boasts banquet and meeting rooms, fitness facilities, and hardwood floors that are ideal for yoga and dance classes.
Programs that the Edgemont Community Association organizes include soccer, basketball, softball, grassroots hockey, seniors power walking, tutoring,
and before and after school programs. Additionally, in partnership with Calgary Parks and Recreation, the Edgemont Community Association offers a
number of summer programs.
There are shopping plazas located throughout Edgemont, Calgary, and they feature convenience stores, medical clinics, liquor stores, and other shops.
Furthermore, in a matter of minutes, residents can reach the Beacon Hill shopping district, which features big box stores like Home Depot, Costco, and
Canadian Tire. There are two preschools in Edgemont, as well as three schools for K-12 students.
