Elboya, Calgary is a mature neighborhood and one of the most beautiful communities in the city. Avenue Magazine ranked this scenic southwest
neighborhood #1 in their inaugural Calgary’s Best Neighborhoods list. Elboya boasts spacious and luxurious single family homes, as well as attractive
condominiums. The neighborhood stretches from the Elbow River south up the side of a large hill, so its homes offer stunning views of both the
downtown skyline and Elbow Valley.
Location
Elboya, Calgary is located just four kilometers away from the downtown area on a quiet section of the Elbow River. It is bounded by Crescent Boulevard and Elbow River to the north, Macleod Trail to the east, 50th Avenue S to the south, and Elbow Drive to the west. Because Elboya’s close to the major transportation routes of Elbow Drive and Macleod Trail, residents have direct access to the downtown area. Elboya is a popular neighborhood because it’s centrally located, yet it maintains a peaceful atmosphere and teems with mature trees, pathways, and green space.
Real Estate
Elboya was annexed by the city in 1910 and established as a neighborhood in 1947. It didn’t undergo significant development until the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, however. There are nearly 500 single family homes and 216 condominium properties in the community. Elboya’s riverfront homes are located near Stanley Park. Single family homes in Elboya range in price from the mid-$400,000’s to up to $5 million. The properties in Elboya offer amazing views of river valleys, the cityscape, and the Rocky Mountains. The neighborhood is comprised mostly of older homes, but many of them have been renovated or rebuilt over the years. Approximately 40% of the properties in Elboya, Calgary are occupied by renters.
