Located in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Falconridge is a low density residential community that features a mix of single family homes and townhomes. The homes in Falconridge, Calgary offer stunning views of the city and the mountains. Falconridge was annexed by the city in 1961, but prior to that, it was part of the Municipal District of Rockyview.

Location

Falconridge, Calgary is located on the eastern edge of developed Calgary. It is bounded by Falconrdige Boulevard and 44th Street E to the west, 64th Avenue N to the north, 68th Street E to the east, and McKnight Boulevard to the south. Falconridge is located east of the Calgary International Airport, which can be accessed via McKnight Boulevard. It is well connected to major transportation routes in the city. Just recently, the LRT system was extended to the McKnight-Westwinds station, which is adjacent to Castleridge and just west of Falconridge.

Real Estate

Falconridge, Calgary is a low density residential area featuring mostly single family homes and townhomes. Around 6.5% of the residences in the community are apartments or condominiums, and nearly 70% of the population is comprised of homeowners. Approximately 10,000 people call Falconridge home.

Amenities

There are several schools in the area, including Falconridge Elementary, Terry Fox Junior High, and Bishop McNally Senior High. Along 32nd Avenue, east of 36th Street NE, youíll find a number of restaurants, although they are mostly chain establishments. The closest place to catch a movie is in London Towne Square.

Parks and Recreation

Falconridge, Calgary is home to numerous parks. On the west side of the community, youíll find Prairie Winds Park, which features an outdoor pool. Nearby Don Hartman North East Sportsplex boasts an array of recreational opportunities and features plenty of pathways and green space.

Falconridge, Calgary is served by the Falconridge-Castleridge Community Association. The community association is one of the most active in Calgary. It runs the North of McKnight community resource centre, which offers a variety of social services to help local residents, including counseling, immigrant services, parenting support, and financial aid. It also runs the Falconrige-Castleridge Community Centre, which is home to eight preschool classes and a youth drop-in centre thatís complete with video games, a pool table, and concessions.

The programs at the community centre in Falconridge cater to a wide variety of interests and are appropriate for people of all ages. Programs offered include river rafting, karate, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, dance, and Alcoholics Anonymous.
