Huntington Hills, Calgary is a well-established community located in the northwest sector of the city. The area was annexed in 1961, but significant development did not occur until 1967. Approximately 13,740 residents call the neighborhood home.

Huntington Hills is centrally located, boasts affordable real estate, and offers plenty of recreational opportunities. There has been some commercial development in Huntington Hills, as well, so residents have an array of shopping options.


Huntington Hills is bounded by Beddington Boulevard to the north, Deerfoot Trail and Nose Creek to the east, 64th Avenue N to the south, and Nose Hill Park and 14th Street W to the west. The neighborhood is located at the base of Nose Hill, between Beddington Heights and Thorncliffe. Because of its high elevation, it offers great views of both the city and the Rocky Mountains. Huntington Hills, Calgary offers quick access to both the downtown area and the Calgary International Airport.

Real Estate

Huntington Hills, Calgary is one of the more affordable neighborhoods in the city. The neighborhood consists mostly of small, single family homes. There are also condos, townhomes, and duplexes available. Nearly 70% of the housing is occupied by homeowners.


There are an abundance of shopping venues located in the Huntington Hills area, including strip malls, indoor malls, and outlet malls. Also nearby are major grocery stores, such as COOP, Safeway, and Superstore, where Huntington Hillsí residents can pick up day-to-day necessities.

Parks and Recreation

The Huntington Hills Community Association meets in the Huntington Hill Sportsplex, which features the North Central Community Resource Centre, a skating rink, meeting rooms, and a curling rink. The North Central Community Resource Centre offers support to residents through organizing moms and tots groups, parent workshops, and other special programs.

Activities that the Huntington hills Community Association offers for residents include floor hockey, gymnastics, figure skating, basketball, karate, and yoga. Special events organized by the Huntington Hills Community Association on an annual basis include a Stampede Breakfast, performances by local musicians, silent auctions, and craft fairs.

Parks near Huntington Hills, Calgary include Nose Hill Park and Confluence Park, both of which offer ample recreational opportunities. Additional recreational facilities in the area include ice arenas, an indoor pool, and the Calgary Winter Club, which features aquatics, badminton, bowling, curling, and fitness facilities.


There are several public and separate schools in Huntington Hills, Calgary. The neighborhood is served by Alex Munro Elementary, Sir John A MacDonald Junior High, and John G. Diefenbaker High School.
