Kincora, Calgary is a beautiful subdivision located in the northwest part of the city. It is a Celtic-themed community situated around Simons Valley Road. The community has a peaceful atmosphere and is complete with a landscaped storm water pond, playground, gazebo, and 120 acres of parks and environmental reserve. There are also five kilometers of recreational pathways that run along the bottom of the environmental reserve and community. To put it simply, Kincoraís a gorgeous area thatís perfect for anyone who wants to live near plenty of green space.

Kincora, Calgary was developed by Apex Limited Partnership in 2002. The name and design of Kincora derives from Irelandís legendary king, Brian Boru. Celtic-themed features of the community include the Kincora Tower, lantern street lights, and stone entry wall.


Kincora, Calgary is located immediately west of Symons Valley Drive and just north of the Stoney Trail NW ring road. Residents of Kincora have quick access to the international airport and Highway 2, which leads to Edmonton.

Real Estate

Kincora, Calgary is a great move-up neighborhood for families looking for newer homes that offer great value. The community consists mostly of single family move-up, executive, and estate homes with prices from the mid-$400,000s to the high $500,000s range. There is also a small complex featuring multi-family townhomes within the neighborhood.


There are several public and separate schools in the Kincora, Calgary area, including Greenview Elementary, St. Bede Elementary, St. Margaret Junior High, and John G. Diefenbaker High. To get their shopping done, Kincora residents can stop by the Country Hills Town Centre, Country Hills Village, Deerfoot Outlet Mall, Beddington Towne Centre, or Creekside Shopping Centre. There are also plenty of hospitals nearby, such as the Alberta Childrenís Hospital. The Thornhill branch is the nearest public library.

Parks and Recreation

In addition to enjoying abundant green space and recreational areas, residents of Kincora have quick access to Nose Hill Park, Evanston Park, and various recreational facilities. Nose Hill Park, one of the largest municipal parks in North America, features grasslands, archaeological sites, and over 198 wildlife species. Nearby recreational facilities include the Thornhill Pool and Fitness Centre, the Calgary Winter Club, and Cardel Place. There are also several golf courses near Kincora, including Country Hills, Fox Hollow, Harvest Hills, and the Hamptons.

Kincora, Calgary is served by the Kincora Community Association, which organizes a variety of special events for Kincora residents, including a Stampede Breakfast, Family Fun Day, and Park Ďn Play. The association also publishes a newsletter that the Canada Post distributes to most residences in Kincora. The sense of community in Kincora is strong, so itís a great place to live if youíre raising a family.
