Mahogany, Calgary is a neighborhood that is still under development in the southeast sector of the city. Plans to develop this new suburban
neighborhood were approved by the city’s council in 2007. Mahogany is being developed by Hopewell Residential Communities, which has developed
several acclaimed communities in Calgary, including Copperfield, Elbow Valley, and Hanson Ranch.
Mahogany, Calgary will be bounded by a future extension of 52nd Street SE to the west, Marquis de Lorne Trail and the community of Auburn Bay to the
north, the proposed East Freeway to the east, and the eastern extension of Seton Boulevard to the south. The community sits on approximately 525
hectares. A future southeast line of Calgary’s C-Train system is expected to run parallel to 52nd Street in order to serve residents of Mahogany.
The homes in Mahogany, Calgary are being built around the city’s largest freshwater lake. The lake consists of three parts and is crossed in two places
by bridges. There are 84 acres of combined lake and beachfront in Mahogany.

the community lake and organizes a variety of events and programs for Mahogany residents, including Movies in the Park, Easter Egg Hunts, a Boating
Program, and a Skating Program.
