Millrise, Calgary is a suburban community located in southwest Calgary. Although the area was annexed by the city in 1961, development didnít begin until 1982. Millrise has a population of 6,509. It is bounded by 146th Avenue S to the north, Macleod Trail to the east, Shawnessy Boulevard to the south, and James McKevitt Road to the west. Millrise is in close proximity to major transportation routes and is served by Fish Creek-Lacombe station of the C-Train LRT system, so commuting times are minimal for area residents.

In addition, the Southland Leisure Centre is located to the north and the Trico Centre for Family Wellness is located to the east. Golfers can hone their game at the Shawnee Slopes Golf Course, which is located right in the middle of Millrise.

Millrise, Calgary is served by the Millrise Community Association, which organizes a variety of programs of area residents. Community events and activities offered in Millrise include adult birding programs, Family Day Skate, Mom & Tots, and Family Carnival.
