North Haven, Calgary is a low-density residential neighborhood located in the northwest quadrant of the city. North Haven was established in 1963 and
was once ranch land that was used for grazing cattle. The community is located at the base of Nose Hill Park. Because of the areaís gently sloping
topography, North Havenís residents can enjoy amazing views from a number of locations within the community.
North Haven, Calgary is located immediately southeast of Nose Hill Park and 14th Street NW. It is bordered by Nose Hill Park to the west and John Laurie
Boulevard to the south and east. John Laurie Boulevard separates North Haven from the neighboring communities of Cambrian Heights and Thorncliffe.
John Laurie Boulevard also connects to McKnight Boulevard, which takes you to the Calgary International Airport.
Upper North Haven, which is considered a separate community, is located to the north of North Haven. North Haven is a popular place to live because of
its proximity to Nose Hill Park, which features an extensive recreational pathway system. North Havenís residents can also access the downtown area
quickly via 14th Street.
North Haven, Calgary is made up of mostly single family homes that were developed in the late 1950s. There are some condos and apartments

North Haven, Calgary is bordered by Nose Hill Park, which is made up of unspoiled short grass prairie landscape and features walking trails that connect

During the winter, North Haven residents can enjoy a variety of activities at the Calgary Winter Club, a private club where popular activities include
squash, bowling, skating, etc. The Calgary Winter Club is located just north of John Laurie on 14th Street.
Recreational facilities that are located within the North Haven community include an indoor ice arena on Centre Street, as well as an indoor pool and
another ice arena just north of 64th Avenue. Additional recreational amenities situated in North Haven include a community hall that has a kitchen,
lounge, stage, meeting rooms, and outdoor BBQ area.
