Rosedale, Calgary is a residential neighborhood located in the northwest quadrant of the city. Rosedale was established in 1929 and has a population of around 1,650 residents. It is situated along a ridge above the Bow River, so it offers great views of the downtown area. Rosedale is an ideal choice for professionals with families because it is close to the cityís core and is home to great schools. Avenue Magazine ranked Rosedale #3 in its list of Calgaryís Best Neighborhoods. Rosedale is nestled between three bustling streets that take you downtown within minutes, but it isnít noisy and crowded like other centrally-located neighborhoods.


Rosedale is located west of the community of Crescent Heights and south of the Trans-Canada Highway, between 4th Street and 10th Street NW. It is bounded by Crescent Road to the south.

Rosedale is located near SAIT, the University of Calgary, the Alberta College of Art, the Foothills Hospital, and the Jubilee Auditorium. The LRT system is also nearby. 10th Street NW and Centre Street N both offer quick access to the downtown area.

Real Estate

Rosedale, Calgary consists of both newer and older properties with large lots shaded by mature trees. The neighborhood is made up of mostly single family detached homes, but there are also some multi-family condos and townhomes in the area. Homes in Rosedale that are located along the escarpment offer stunning views of the downtown area. Rosedale homes range in price from just over $500,000 to over $4 million. Prices for condos in the area start at around $250,000. Rosedale has a home ownership rate of over 76%.


Rosedale, Calgary is served by Rosedale Elementary & Junior High. Children in the community can attend high school in the neighboring community of Crescent Heights. Within 15 minutes, you can walk to SAIT, the LRT station, the Bow River park and pathway system, and the shops and restaurants located on 16th Avenue NW. Rosedale is also walking distance from Kensington Village, a shopping centre that features 250 boutiques and restaurants. The CORE shopping centre in downtown Calgary, which is home to over 160 shops, is also just minutes away.

Parks and Recreation

Rosedale, Calgary is located near the Bow River pathway system, which is ideal for running, cycling, and rollerblading. McHugh Bluff Park, Riley Park, and Confederation Park are also nearby. In addition, the Calgary Climbing Centre, which features extensive indoor climbing gyms, is located within Rosedale.
