Saddle Ridge

Saddle Ridge, Calgary is a neighborhood located in the far northeastern corner of the city. Saddle Ridge originally consisted of acreages, but today it is an urban community that developed around a commercial hub known as Saddletown Circle. The western portion of the community is known as Saddle Ridge Industrial. Commercial and industrial development will take place there in the future. The Calgary International Airport is located to the west of Saddle Ridge.


Saddle Ridge, Calgary is located right next to the McKnight-Westwinds LRT station on 36th Street. The community is located north of the communities of Martindale and Taradale. It is bounded by 96th Avenue N to the north, 68th Street E to the east, McKnight Boulevard to the south, and 36th Street E to the west.

Real Estate

Saddle Ridge, Calgary consists of mostly single family starter homes and move-up homes, but it also features some modern condos and townhouse developments. Homes in the area range in cost from just under $300,000 to the mid-$500,000s, while prices for townhomes start in the high- $100,000s. Saddle Ridge has a home ownership rate of over 91%.


Saddle Ridge, Calgary is home to a wetland pond thatís surrounded by interpretive walking paths. Schools in the area include Saddle Ridge Elementary and Light of Christ (K-9). The Calgary International Airport and the cityís public transportation are also easily accessible to residents of Saddle Ridge. In addition, the neighborhood boasts quick access to major transportation routes.

Parks and Recreation

Residential development continues to take place in Saddle Ridge, Calgary, so a variety of recreational amenities are gradually being constructed in the area. For example, a 17-acre joint-use park is currently being constructed on Martin Crossing Park, east of Martindale Boulevard. The park will feature soccer fields, an outdoor hockey rink, a community centre, baseball diamonds, and much more.

Saddle Ridge, Calgary is located just one kilometre away from Prairie Winds Park, a 40-acre park in the neighboring community of Castleridge. Prairie Winds Park is a popular public park that features playgrounds, picnic sites, baseball diamonds, and soccer fields. In the wintertime, Saddle Ridge residents can go to the park to enjoy its ice skating rinks, toboggan hill, and cross country skiing facilities.

Saddle Ridge, Calgary is served by the Saddle Ridge Community Association. The association organizes several sports programs for youth in the community, including football and basketball. Special events that the association puts together regularly include car boot sales and community cleanup days.
