Sherwood, Calgary is a suburban residential neighborhood located in the northwest quadrant of the city. It is a new, planned community developed by
Genesis Land Development Corporation that boasts a large selection of homes. Sherwood was built to model a community in the English countryside. It
has a village-like feel and boasts plenty of green space, playgrounds, and quiet streets.
Because Sherwood is a relatively new community, there isnít much data available about it at this time. Whatís known is that the community of Symons
Valley, which encompasses Sherwood, is home to approximately 2,660 people.
Sherwood, Calgary is located west of Beacon Heights and east of Kincora. The neighborhood is situated on the northern edge of the city and between the
major routes of Stoney Trail, Sarcee Trail, and Beddington Trail, which allow for hassle-free commutes to other parts of the city.
Homes in Sherwood, Calgary blend in harmoniously with the surrounding topography. Housing in the area reflects a variety of unique architectural styles,
including English Manor, French Provincial, English Tudor, French Normandy, and English Cottage. In 2004, Sherwood won the New Community of the Year
Award from the Canadian Home Buildersí Association in the Calgary region.
Sherwood, Calgary is served by numerous public and separate schools. In addition, the community is located just minutes away from Beacon Hill Centre,
which features a large number of stores, such as Costco, Future Shop, and Home Depot. Also nearby is Sage Hill Crossing, a mixed-use development
thatís currently under construction. Sage Hill Crossing will feature a movie theatre, restaurants, residential suites, a hotel, and numerous shopping

For recreation, residents of Sherwood, Calgary can head to Nose Hill Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America, or the Hamptons Golf Course.
Sherwood is served by the Sherwood Community Association, which organizes a variety of activities and programs for community residents. Events that
the association holds in the neighborhood include community cleanups, barbeques, and garage sales.
