Signal Hill, Calgary is a large, well-to-do community located on the western edge of the city. It consists of the neighborhoods of Sienna Hills and Signal
Ridge. The area was annexed by the city in 1956, but development didn’t begin there until 1986. Signal Hill is situated on an elevated plateau that
stretches approximately seven kilometres, so it offers amazing views of the Elbow River Valley and the Rocky Mountains. The community has a
population of nearly 14,000.
Signal Hill, Calgary is located in the city’s southwest quadrant. It is bounded by Sarcee Trail to the east, 17th Avenue to the north, Glenmore Trail to the
south, and Springbank Hill to the west. The wealthiest residents in the community live in upper Signal Hill, which is at the top of the hill, as the name

Signal Hill, Calgary is located just minutes away from numerous shopping venues, including Westhills Towne Centre, Signal Hill Centre, Signature Park
Plaza, and Westmarket Square. There is one school in the community called Battalion Park School. Signal Hill also has a public library.
Parks and Recreation
Near Signal Hill, off of Sirocco Drive, there are soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a boarded hockey rink. The Westside Regional Recreation Centre is
located on the western edge of the community. To the south, Signal Hill is bordered by Battalion Park, which was built in honor of the four army
battalions that trained in the area during WWI. There are also various recreational pathways accessible via Signal Hill.
Signal Hill is served by the Signal Hill Community Association. Activities that the association organizes for residents include soccer, skating, and Block
Watch. Events held in the community on a regular basis include garage sales and community cleanups. Recreational facilities located within Signal Hill
include tennis courts and an outdoor skating rink.
