Stanley Park

Stanley Park, Calgary is a residential neighborhood consisting of low and medium-density housing that is located in the southwest quadrant of the city. Established in 1910, Stanley Park is one of Calgary’s oldest neighborhoods. It has a population of around 1,543 and sits on a north-facing hill that overlooks the park after which the community is named.

Stanley Park is a fantastic neighborhood that offers easy access to a variety of recreational facilities and convenient amenities. Stanley Park also encompasses the community of Parkhill.


Stanley Park, Calgary is bounded by Mission Road to the north, Macleod Trail to the east, Crescent Boulevard to the south, and the Elbow River to the west. The community is bordered by Roxboro Park to the north. It is just a few kilometres away from the downtown area.

Real Estate

Stanley Park, Calgary offers a mix of old character homes and newer infills. The real estate in Stanley Park blends in well with the landscaping and trees in the area. A redevelopment plan that was introduced in 1994 designated the western part of Stanley Park as a conservation area in order to encourage the preservation of existing housing. There are a total of 487 single family homes and 146 condos/townhouse units. Homes in Stanley Park have an average sale price of $630,656, while condos/townhouse units in the area have an average sale price of $216,951.


The eastern border of Stanley Park, Calgary is Macleod Trail, which is a major vehicular route that features many commercial developments. Residents of Stanley Park are also just a short distance away from the restaurants, boutique shops, and stores in the downtown area and along 4th Street and 17th Avenue. 4th Street, which has many restaurants and bars, is actually called Calgary’s “Restaurant Row.” In addition, the LRT system is nearby and there are plans to replace industrial land uses near the LRT station with commercial/residential mixed use developments.

Parks and Recreation

Stanley Park, Calgary offers easy access to a variety of recreational facilities. The area connects to the Elbow River recreational pathways and is located near the private Glencoe Club and public Lindsay Parks Sports Centre. The neighborhood is also home to an outdoor skating rink, sports fields, and tennis courts.

Stanley Park, the park of the same name that the neighborhood overlooks, has its own pebble beach and outdoor pool. The community of Stanley Park is also close to Calgary’s Stampede Grounds. Stanley Park is served by the Parkhill Stanley Park Community Association, which hosts special events and programs for residents, including community wine events and playgroups.
