Woodlands, Calgary is a residential neighborhood located in the southwest quadrant of the city. Along with Woodbine, Woodlands is part of the Woodcreek community. Woodlands is a quiet, scenic neighborhood that is surrounded by an abundance of parks and green space. It is over ten kilometres away from the city centre and offers a slower pace of life than youíll find in more centrally-located neighborhoods. Recreational opportunities and untouched natural beauty are prevalent in the Woodlands area, so itís a great place to live if you love nature and enjoy leading an active lifestyle.


Woodlands, Calgary is located north of Fish Creek Provincial Park. The Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club is located in the northeast corner of the neighborhood. Nearby Anderson Road, which connects to Macleod Trail, allows residents to reach other parts of the city with ease.

Real Estate

Woodlands, Calgary is a family-oriented community with a wide selection of properties. Homes in Woodlands are in the mid to upper-mid price range. Most of the neighborhood consists of single family homes that date back to the 1980s, but there are also some townhomes in the area. In addition, Woodlands boasts several beautiful properties that back onto the golf course or reserve.

Woodlands, Calgary offers quick access to major shopping centres, retail stores, and the south LRT system. The community is served by Woodlands Elementary, Woodbine Elementary, and St. Jude Catholic Elementary. William Roper Hull Child and Family Services, which was named after the rancher who donated the land, is located in the northeast corner of the community.

Parks and Recreation

Woodlands, Calgary boasts plentiful mature trees and green space. The neighborhood is located right by Fish Creek Provincial Park, one of the largest nature reserves in Southern Alberta. Other recreational venues located in the Woodlands area include Woodlands Park, Woodview Park, Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club, Southland Leisure Centre, and Trico Centre for Family Wellness.

Woodlands, Calgary is served by the Woodcreek Community Association, which also serves the community of Woodbine. Programs and activities that the association offers for community residents include Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, karate, dance, football, and a seniorsí program. The neighborhood is also home to two paved skating rinks, tennis courts, basketball nets, and playing fields.
